With the ever-increasing concerns over the environment, the demands for larger equipment and increased productivity, development of new materials is an ongoing pursuit for manufacturers. These concerns are being met with "next generation" brake and friction materials.
Free of harmful substances such as asbestos these new materials contain natural and synthetic fibres. Ongoing development of these "next generation" products has resulted in improved smooth friction characteristics, increased heat resistance and less abrasion in clutches.
That means for you as the end user, increased product life and greater durability resulting in better performance and increased savings in maintenance costs.
In wet applications correct oil grooving is essential to ensure normal operation. Oil type, lubrication method and other factors determine the pattern for specific applications, e.g. a spiral design increases a clutches dragging torque whilst other designs increase the absorption of energy.
